Under the patronage of the Dean of the College of Science for Women, Professor Dr. Sameera Naji Khdim, the Continuing Education Unit, in collaboration with the Department of Chemistry, organized a training course entitled “Chemical Software” in the Abdul Hakim Hall. The course was presented by Dr. Hamdiya Hatim Jawad, Dr. Sorour Abdul Rahman Mahdi, and Ms. Marwa Raad Hashem, and was attended by a number of students from the department.

The course aimed to explain and clarify the most important chemical software programs that chemistry specialists need to be familiar with in order to enhance their professional capabilities. This knowledge enables them to work effectively in the field and provides a comprehensive and detailed understanding of the key software required to accomplish scientific projects for both researchers and students. The course also focused on promoting innovation and creativity through a better understanding of the mechanisms and tools of advanced chemical software, thereby keeping pace with ongoing scientific developments and achieving scientific and research excellence.

The lectures highlighted the most essential chemical software programs, which play a vital role in preparing a generation of qualified chemists capable of keeping up with scientific advancements and meeting the demands of the labor market. These programs not only provide theoretical knowledge but also emphasize the practical aspect through laboratory work and hands-on training. This makes chemistry graduates effective contributors in various industrial sectors.
