In accordance with the esteemed directives of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research regarding the launch of the Blessed Ramadan Voluntary Work Initiative, our college, under the patronage of the Dean of the College of Science for Women, Professor Dr. Sameera Naji Khdim , and with the supervision of the Dean’s assistants, organized a visit to Dar Al-Hanan for individuals with severe disabilities. The visit included a distinguished group of the college’s faculty members and staff and was conducted within the framework of community initiatives aimed at promoting the values of solidarity and compassion during the holy month.

The visit was overseen by the Head of the Student Activities Division, Assistant Lecturer Ghufran Zaid, and included the participation of the Volunteer Work Unit Coordinator, Assistant Lecturer Alaa Hussein, along with several faculty members from the college’s departments. The initiative focused on providing both moral and material support to the residents and engaging with them in a manner that reflects the college’s commitment to social responsibility. Activities during the visit included assessing the residents’ conditions and presenting them with Ramadan gift baskets.

Participants emphasized that this initiative embodies the college’s mission to serve the community, foster a spirit of volunteerism among faculty and students, and instill a culture of giving and humanitarian work. In turn, the administration of Dar Al-Hanan expressed its sincere gratitude and appreciation for this noble initiative, recognizing the efforts of the college’s administration and staff in supporting this important segment of society and affirming the significance of continuing such visits due to their profound positive psychological impact on the residents.

Through this event, the College of Science for Women reaffirms its ongoing commitment to participating in humanitarian activities and initiatives that contribute to community service, in alignment with the directives of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, and its continuous pursuit of fostering the values of cooperation, compassion, and voluntary service.
