Under the patronage of the Dean of the College of Science for Women, Professor Dr. Sameera Naji Khdim, the University Psychological Guidance Unit, in collaboration with the Special Needs Unit, organized an interactive dialogue session entitled “After Graduation… From Aspiration to Reality.” The session was delivered by Ms. Duha Ali Abdul and Ms. Hiba Ali Karim, with the aim of supporting graduating students and assisting them in transitioning from academic life to professional careers with confidence and awareness.
The session included an interactive counseling activity focused on transforming aspirations and ambitions into practical, actionable steps through the promotion of realistic thinking and systematic future planning. The program featured motivational questions directed at students regarding their initial steps after graduation, thereby encouraging critical reflection and informed decision-making.
Additionally, participants were given paper slips to write down their main concerns and challenges they might face after graduation. These were subsequently discussed collectively in order to develop realistic and shared solutions that enhance confidence and reduce anxiety associated with this transitional stage.
The session also explored students’ skills, talents, and future aspirations, providing them with an opportunity to express their capabilities and exchange experiences. This contributed to strengthening self-awareness and developing a clearer vision of their prospective career paths.
The session concluded by emphasizing the importance of early planning for post-graduation life and the continuous development of personal and professional skills. Such preparation is essential to enable students to face labor market challenges with confidence and competence, and to achieve their ambitions on well-founded and realistic bases.
