The Psychological Counseling and Educational Guidance Unit Organizes an Awareness Workshop on Sexual Deviance .Under the patronage of the Dean of the College of Science for Women, Professor Dr. Sameera Naji Khdim, and within the framework of the college’s efforts to enhance societal awareness of contemporary psychological and behavioral issues, the Psychological Counseling and Educational Guidance Unit organized a workshop entitled Sexual Deviance. The workshop was presented by Ms. Hanan Muhi Naif, Head of the Government Contracts Unit, with the participation of a group of students and faculty members.

The workshop aimed to shed light on this phenomenon from psychological, educational, and social perspectives, raising students’ awareness of the risks associated with behavioral deviations and methods for coping with psychological pressures that may lead to the adoption of inappropriate behavioral patterns.

The workshop addressed several key areas, focusing on the psychological and educational factors that may contribute to the emergence of deviant tendencies, as well as the role of families and educational institutions in early prevention and addressing such behaviors. Emphasis was also placed on the importance of psychological counseling in building a healthy personality and promoting ethical and religious values among youth. Additionally, the workshop reviewed examples of psychological and educational support programs that help achieve individual psychological and behavioral balance.

This workshop aligns with the objectives of sustainable development, particularly Goal 3: Good Health and Well-being, which emphasizes the necessity of promoting mental and psychological health across all segments of society. Such initiatives contribute to spreading awareness of sound mental health concepts and providing a safe and healthy university environment, thereby fostering a cohesive society resilient against negative phenomena.
