Under the patronage of the Dean of the College of Science for Women, Professor Dr. Sameera Naji Khdim, the Continuing Education Unit organized a workshop entitled “The Academic’s Path to Promotion: How to Complete Your Electronic Application.” The workshop was presented by Dr. Wasan Uday Mahdi, Head of the Academic Promotions Unit, and Dr. Mukhtar Mohammed Hassan.
The workshop addressed the mechanisms and procedures required to complete the academic promotion process electronically, in accordance with the regulations and guidelines issued by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research. It aimed to clarify the necessary steps for faculty members seeking promotion, starting from the preparation of required files and scientific evidence, through the submission process via the electronic promotion system, and concluding with the final approval by the relevant authorities.
The event witnessed active engagement from participants, who posed numerous questions and inquiries regarding the details of the promotion process. This interaction added a practical and applied dimension to the workshop content, enhancing its effectiveness and ensuring that the intended objectives were achieved. Moreover, this workshop aligns with Goal 4 of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), which emphasizes the quality of scientific research outputs in accordance with international standards, thereby contributing to sustainable development plans.
