Under the patronage of the Dean of the College of Science for Women, Professor Dr. Sameera Naji Khdim, the University Psychological Counseling Unit, in collaboration with the Special Needs Unit, organized a mental health awareness festival. The event was presented by Ms. Saad Hassan Hammoud and attended by the Dean, the Assistant Dean for Scientific Affairs, as well as a number of faculty members and students.

The festival commenced with a lecture entitled “A Journey Within the Self: When Does Stress Become an Enemy, and When Does It Become a Motivating Force?” The lecture explored the concept of psychological stress, its psychological and physical manifestations, and effective strategies for managing stress and maintaining psychological well-being.

This was followed by an interactive segment entitled “What We Carry in Silence… How Heavy Is Your Heart?”, which symbolically illustrated the cumulative impact of emotional and psychological burdens on individuals.

The festival also featured an activity entitled “A Message from the Heart… It May Have the Power to Change Something,” during which motivational messages attached to balloons were distributed to participants as a means of encouraging optimism and emotional resilience.

Another interactive session, “My Mirror, My Truth… Let Go of What Weighs Down Your Spirit and Does Not Define You,” encouraged students to express their emotions openly and to release psychological burdens through reflective and participatory activities designed to promote emotional well-being.

The festival concluded by emphasizing the importance of maintaining good mental health and strengthening individuals’ capacity to cope with life’s challenges and psychological pressures through positive strategies that foster emotional balance, resilience, and the ability to contribute effectively to society.
