Under the patronage of the Dean of the College of Science for Women, Professor Dr. Sameera Naji Khdim, the Psychological Counseling and Educational Guidance Unit organized an awareness workshop entitled “Domestic Violence.” The workshop was presented by Assistant Lecturer Hanan Mohi Naif, Head of the Contracts Unit.

The session addressed the psychological and social dimensions of domestic violence and its negative impacts on individuals and society. It also emphasized the importance of community awareness and the role of educational institutions in promoting a culture of dialogue and understanding within the family.

Moreover, the workshop aimed to enhance students’ awareness of their rights and to introduce the available legal and social protection mechanisms. This initiative aligns with Goal 5 of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), which calls for achieving gender equality, empowering women and girls, and eliminating all forms of gender-based violence.

Through this event, the college seeks to contribute to the creation of a safe environment that upholds human dignity and respects individual rights within both the family and society.
