Under the patronage of the Dean of the College of Science for Women, Professor Dr. Sameera Naji Khdim , the Division of Media and Government Communication, in cooperation with the Student Activities Unit and the Rehabilitation and Employment Unit, and in coordination with the Quality Assurance Division, organized a celebration marking the Iraqi National Day.
The ceremony was attended by the Assistant Dean for Administrative and Financial Affairs, Dr. Adel Hussein Talib, and the Assistant Dean for Scientific and Student Affairs, Dr. Yusra Abdul Sahib Saif Al-Din, along with a number of faculty members, administrative staff, and students of the college.
The celebration commenced with the raising of the Iraqi flag in the college courtyard as a tribute to this cherished national occasion. The program then began with the recitation of verses from the Holy Qur’an by Dr. Abbas Murtadha from the Department of Biology, followed by the playing of the national anthem. The Assistant Deans delivered speeches highlighting the significance of national belonging and the importance of fostering a spirit of citizenship among students.
The event also featured a visual presentation on the rich history of Iraq as the cradle of civilizations and the land of prophets. Additionally, the celebration included the recitation of patriotic poems and spirited national songs expressing love and pride in Iraq.
The activities concluded with a competition entitled “Love of the Homeland in a Word,” in which participants eloquently expressed their heartfelt sentiments toward Iraq, drawing enthusiastic responses from the audience. The event also included a symbolic activity—attendees wrote and hung their wishes on a “Tree of Wishes” adorned with colorful paper notes, beautifully expressing their affection for Iraq and their hopes for its bright future.
The celebration concluded with the taking of commemorative photos to mark this joyous occasion.
