Under the patronage of the Dean of the College of Science for Women, Professor Dr. Sameera Naji Khdim, the college hosted a delegation from the National Security Service on Thursday, October 2. The delegation was received by the Assistant Dean for Administrative and Financial Affairs, Dr. Adel Hussein Talib.

On the sidelines of the visit, and in coordination with the Continuing Education Unit, the delegation delivered an awareness lecture entitled “Electronic Blackmail.” The lecture addressed the concept of blackmail, its types—financial and emotional—and its negative impacts on individuals and society. Emphasis was placed on preventive measures, including refraining from sharing personal information, avoiding suspicious links, and exercising caution when using social media platforms.

The speakers also reviewed the most prominent consequences of blackmail, such as personality destruction, the spread of crime, and psychological disorders. They underscored the importance of immediate reporting through the National Security Service hotline or via the Aman platform, which is equipped with artificial intelligence technologies to provide confidential support.
