Under the patronage of the Dean of the College of Science for Women, Professor Dr. Sameera Naji Khdim, the Student Activities Unit organized a celebration marking the birth of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) in the Conference Hall. The event was attended by the Associate Dean for Administrative Affairs, Dr. Adel Hussein Talib, along with a number of faculty members and staff of the college.
The ceremony commenced with a recitation of verses from the Holy Qur’an, presented by Dr. Abbas Murtadha from the Department of Biology , followed by the recitation of Al-Fatiha in tribute to the souls of Iraq’s martyrs.
In his address, the Associate Dean for Administrative Affairs emphasized the importance of adhering to the ethics and values of the Prophet of Mercy—the role model for Muslims and for humanity—in promoting love, peace, fraternity, and tolerance. He explained that these values represent a way of life and a foundation for moral and human principles from which the entire world can draw inspiration.
The event also featured speeches by Dr. Ghufran Zaid, Head of the Student Activities Unit, and Dr. Najat Baqir, both of whom highlighted the greatness of this occasion and its profound humanitarian dimensions.
The celebration concluded with a religious competition in which questions were posed to the attendees, followed by the distribution of gifts to the participants.
