Under the patronage of the Dean of the College of Science for Women, Professor Dr. Sameera Naji Khdim, the Department of Chemistry, in collaboration with the Continuing Education Unit, organized a workshop entitled “Cosmetic Products and Their Relationship with Infertility.” The workshop was presented by Dr. Sanaa Hatour Awad, Ms. Suha Nasr Fadel, and Ms. Marwa Atta Abdul Sahib.The workshop shed light on the impact of chemical components used in the formulation of cosmetic products on women’s reproductive health, with a particular focus on substances that may disrupt hormonal balance.Additionally, it reviewed a selection of scientific studies addressing the correlation between chronic exposure to certain chemical compounds found in personal care products and delayed conception or reduced fertility.The workshop aimed to raise awareness among attendees about the potential risks associated with some cosmetic products, encourage the use of safer alternatives, and emphasize the importance of reading product labels and ensuring their safety—especially with long-term use.
