As part of its official visit to Iraq, a delegation from Iran’s Sharif University of Technology visited the College of Science for Women with the aim of enhancing academic collaboration and developing scientific and research partnerships with Iraqi universities. The delegation was received by the Dean of the College, Professor Dr. Sameera Naji Khdim, along with the Associate Dean for Scientific Affairs, Dr. Yusra Abdul Sahib, and the Associate Dean for Administrative Affairs, Dr. Adel Hussein Talib.
The college administration welcomed the visiting delegation and emphasized the importance of such visits in fostering the exchange of expertise and expanding areas of mutual cooperation.
The visit included a tour of the smart classroom in the Department of Computer Science, during which the delegation was introduced to a selection of graduation projects completed by the department’s students. The students provided comprehensive presentations on their project ideas, implementation mechanisms, and scaled models, which reflected the applied aspects of the academic content. An interactive dialogue ensued between the delegation and the students, wherein the technical and innovative aspects of the showcased projects were discussed.
The delegation members expressed their deep admiration for the advanced academic standards demonstrated by the graduation projects, commending the efforts of the college administration and faculty in nurturing talent and enhancing the research capabilities of the students.
This visit falls within the framework of supporting scientific relations between Iraq and Iran and reflects the commitment of both institutions to advancing the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals—particularly Goal 4, which ensures inclusive and equitable quality education, and Goal 17, which focuses on strengthening regional and international partnerships.
