Under the patronage of Professor Dr. Sameera Naji Khdim, Dean of the College of Science for Women, the Department of Computer Science, in cooperation with the Scientific Affairs Unit, organized a workshop entitled “The Use of Artificial Intelligence in Multimedia.” The workshop was presented by Dr. Ouras Khalid, Dr. Amal Safeh, and Dr. Woldan Jameel, and was attended by a number of students from the department.
The primary objective of the workshop was to highlight the significance of multimedia, which plays a vital role in the analysis and interpretation of data and information. Additionally, the workshop emphasized the importance of multimedia in programming and artificial intelligence.
The speakers explained the potential of utilizing two or more elements—such as text, audio, images, video, animation, and computer software—within multimedia frameworks. This integration facilitates the effective presentation of media content, enhances the structure and comprehensibility of information for the audience, and provides tools for enriching multimedia content. Examples include automated video editing, image recognition, and speech-to-text conversion. These technologies increase the accessibility and clarity of media content and aid in understanding audience behavior. Artificial intelligence offers insights into audience behavior and preferences, particularly as AI has become an inseparable part of daily life. It is capable of processing voice commands and gestures in a manner closely resembling human interaction, playing a significant role in enhancing user experience and delivering information more efficiently.
The workshop concluded by affirming that the impact of artificial intelligence on the future will be profound, transforming the way we interact with technology and improving overall user experience.
