Under the patronage of the Dean of the College of Science for Women, Professor Dr. Sameera Naji Khdim, the scouting team affiliated with the Student Activities Unit at the college participated in the Central University Scout Camp organized by Al-Mustansiriyah University. The camp witnessed wide participation from scout teams representing various Iraqi universities and was held under the slogan: “No to Extremism, Yes to Coexistence.”
The camp was organized as part of ongoing efforts to promote scouting values aimed at fostering the principles of peaceful coexistence, rejecting extremism and violence, and nurturing a spirit of cooperation and teamwork among university students.
The camp featured a rich program of activities and events, including training workshops, educational sessions on survival skills, camping techniques, and interaction with nature, in addition to sports and cultural activities aimed at building balanced personalities and enhancing communication and teamwork among the participants.
At the conclusion of the camp, the college’s team earned advanced rankings among the participating universities due to its outstanding performance, high level of discipline, and advanced scouting skills.
Dr. Ali Sadiq, Director of the Student Activities Department at the University of Baghdad, praised the exceptional competence demonstrated by the scouting team, emphasizing that this achievement reflects the team’s strong sense of belonging and responsibility, as well as their advanced personal and social skills.
