Under the patronage of the esteemed Dean of the College of Science for Women, Professor Dr. Sameera Naji Khdim, the Media and Government Communication Division, in collaboration with the Continuing Education Unit, organized a workshop entitled Human Trafficking,presented by Dr. Salah Khairy Jaber. The event was attended by the Associate Dean for Administrative Affairs, Dr. Adel Hussein Talib, along with a number of faculty members and staff.
The workshop aimed to shed light on the phenomenon of human trafficking, its various dimensions, and its negative impacts on individuals and societies. It addressed the definition of human trafficking, its different forms, and the methods of combating and preventing it.
Additionally, the workshop discussed the role of media in raising awareness about the dangers of human trafficking and in educating the public. Emphasis was placed on the importance of collaborative efforts between governmental bodies and society in confronting this issue.
The workshop also highlighted the significant role of civil society and non-governmental organizations in combating human trafficking and providing support and assistance to victims. It stressed the necessity of enhancing international and regional cooperation to address this phenomenon and protect its victims.
This workshop served as a valuable opportunity for participants to exchange experiences and knowledge regarding human trafficking and the means of countering it. It also presented a set of important recommendations that could contribute to strengthening efforts to combat human trafficking.
