Under the patronage of the Dean of the College of Sciences for Women , Professor Dr. Sameera Naji Khdim, the Continuing Education Unit, in cooperation with the Department of Physics Sciences, organized a scientific workshop entitled (Principles of Laser and its Applications) presented by Ms. Shahd Dhafer Nasser, Ms. Yasmine Taha Muhammad, Ms. Nour Hussein Rasham.
The workshop aimed to introduce the concept of laser, its mechanism of action, and its various applications in various fields such as medicine, industry, and communications, in addition to highlighting the importance of laser technologies in daily life and the need to explore more of its future uses.
With the aim of enhancing scientific knowledge in laser technologies. The concept of laser was explained, and how it works using photovoltaic cells and other advanced technologies. The various applications of lasers in fields such as medicine, industry, and communications were also highlighted, as it is used in surgery, precise cutting of materials, and data transmission via optical fibers.
The workshop concluded with recommendations on the need to continue research and development in this field and enhance cooperation between academics and industrialists to apply laser technologies in the future. The workshop witnessed great interaction from the attendees, who expressed their desire to expand the study of this topic and delve deeper into knowledge and research.
