Under the patronage of the Dean of the College of Science for Women , Prof. Dr. Sameera Naji Khdim, the Biology Sciences Department organized the Tree Planting Day campaign with the aim of promoting environmental awareness and contributing effectively to improving the local environment. A number of faculty members, in addition to the college’s affiliates and students, participated in the campaign, where many trees and plants were planted in the garden surrounding the department. Species of trees and plants were chosen that are compatible with the local environment and contribute to improving air quality and regulating temperatures. This initiative comes within the framework of a series of environmental activities that the college seeks to organize periodically, with the aim of motivating female students to participate effectively in preserving the environment. The campaign also falls within awareness efforts aimed at enhancing the importance of tree planting in confronting climate change, and its major role in preserving biodiversity, in addition to supporting sustainable development goals, especially with regard to achieving environmental balance and developing environmental awareness among future generations
