Under the patronage of the Dean of the College of Science for Women, Professor Dr. Sameera Naji Khdim , the Department of Mathematics, in cooperation with the Continuing Education Unit, organized a scientific workshop entitled (Renewable Energy and its Types) presented by M.S. Fatima Ahmed Shihab, M.S. Samaa Mohamed Ezzat, M.S. Hoda Emad El-Din El-Gamil.
The workshop aimed to shed light on the importance of renewable energy in the modern era and its great impact in facing environmental and economic challenges. It addressed many topics related to types of renewable energy such as solar energy, wind energy, hydropower and geothermal energy, with a focus on the scientific principles on which these types are based and methods of converting them into usable energy. The workshop also reviewed the latest developments in technologies for exploiting these renewable sources and how to apply them in daily and industrial life.
It is worth noting that such activities play an important role in promoting the culture of exploiting and developing renewable energy to protect the environment, preserve nature, and achieve the sustainable development goals of improving people’s lives and protecting the planet, represented by the ninth goal, industry, innovation, and infrastructure, the eleventh goal, sustainable cities and communities, and the thirteenth goal, climate action
