Under the patronage of the Dean of the College of Science for Women , Professor Dr. Sameera Naji Khdim, the Department of Chemistry, in cooperation with the Continuing Education Unit, organized a scientific workshop entitled “Modern Biochemistry”, presented by Asst. Prof. Dr. Bri Habib Saif Allah , in the presence of a number of lecturers, students and those interested in the field.
The workshop shed light on recent developments in biochemistry, reviewing the changes that have occurred in this field over time, and the vital role played by modern technologies in detecting biological compounds. The study of proteins and genetic content was also addressed, in addition to their multiple functions in the body and their direct effects on human health.
The workshop addressed the close relationship between biochemistry and various aspects of daily life, as it discussed the impact of agricultural pollution on public health, the importance of biochemistry in developing pharmaceutical industries, as well as its effective role in diagnosing and early detection of diseases.
The workshop witnessed great interaction from the attendees, as views were exchanged on the latest research in this field, which enhanced the value of the workshop as an important scientific platform that contributes to spreading knowledge and enhancing a deep understanding of biochemistry and its broad Applications.
