Under the patronage of Dr. Sameera Naji Khdim, Dean of the College of Science for Women, the Continuing Education Unit organized an awareness workshop titled “The Physical and Psychological Effects of the Internet on Children.” The workshop was presented by Assoc. Prof. Mervat Youssef Khdim, Ms. Salma Dawood Salman, and Ms. Bashair Nasser Hassoun.
The workshop aimed to shed light on the physical effects of excessive internet use, such as vision problems and prolonged sitting, as well as the psychological effects it may have on children, such as anxiety, depression, and social isolation. Practical advice was provided on how to monitor children’s use of technology and guide them toward healthy and physical activities. The goal of the workshop was to equip participants with the tools and knowledge to protect children from the negative impacts of the internet, while encouraging a balance between the digital world and other life activities. This workshop was organized as part of ongoing efforts to raise community awareness about the importance of safe and responsible use of technology.
