Under the patronage of the Dean of the College of Science for Women, Professor Dr. Sameera Naji Khdim, the Department of Biology , in cooperation with the Continuing Education Unit, organized a scientific workshop titled “ET_BR Agar Assay,” presented by Assist. Prof. Dr. Zeina Hashem Shihab, Dr. Jowan Sabah Jumaa, and Ms. Sana Mohammed Habib.
The workshop aimed to provide a comprehensive scientific concept about the technique of using the ET_BR agar medium in biological and laboratory studies, such as testing the effectiveness of antibiotics and studying microbial resistance to drugs. The workshop also included a detailed explanation of the methods for preparing the medium and its use in detecting antibacterial and antifungal activity. Additionally, the workshop covered how to interpret the results and the scientific applications of this technique in medical research and environmental fields. Practical applications were also presented to help the attendees master the use of this test in their research and practical experiments.
