Under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Sameera Naji Khdim, Dean of the College of Science for Women, and under the direct supervision of Dr. Salah Khairi Jaber, Assistant Dean for Administrative and Financial Affairs, and in coordination with the college’s Civil Defense Unit Officer, the college has installed new fire suppression and early warning systems in several of its buildings. This initiative forms part of the Deanship’s ongoing efforts to strengthen safety and prevention measures and protect lives and property.
The works included the installation of fire detection and alarm devices, fire extinguishing balls, and water-based fire suppression systems. These measures are intended to enhance the buildings’ readiness to respond to emergencies and mitigate potential risks, particularly in laboratories and lecture halls, where the highest standards of prevention and safety are required.
This initiative reflects the College Deanship’s commitment to providing a safe university environment for female students, faculty members, and staff, while strengthening protection and prevention measures throughout its buildings, laboratories, and various facilities in accordance with safety and civil defense requirements.
Furthermore, the newly installed systems are expected to improve the response to potential incidents by detecting sources of danger at an early stage, facilitating the containment of fires in their initial stages, and reducing the risk of their spread. These measures contribute to safeguarding lives and property, as well as protecting scientific and laboratory equipment and instruments.
