Under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Sameera Naji Khdim, Dean of the College of Science for Women, and in the presence of Dr. Salah Khairi, Assistant Dean for Administrative and Financial Affairs, the Department of Chemistry at the College of Science for Women held a memorial ceremony to mark the fortieth-day commemoration of the passing of the late Dr. Kadhim Khudair Ghadheeb, one of the distinguished figures of the College and a faculty member in the Department of Chemistry. Throughout his academic career, the late Dr. Kadhim left a distinguished scientific, administrative, and humanitarian legacy.
The ceremony commenced with a blessed recitation of verses from the Holy Qur’an, followed by a presentation of the deceased’s academic and professional career, in remembrance of his generous contributions and significant efforts in serving the Department, the College, and its students. The late Dr. Kadhim held several important administrative positions, including Head of the Quality Assurance and University Performance Division, Assistant Dean for Administrative and Financial Affairs, and Head of the Media Unit. In these capacities, he made significant contributions to the development of administrative and academic work and supported the advancement of the College.
The ceremony featured a memorial address delivered by Dr. Salah Khairi, Assistant Dean for Administrative and Financial Affairs. Prof. Dr. Fikrat Majeed Hassan also delivered a speech on behalf of the College Council, in which he spoke about the late Dr. Kadhim, recalling his distinguished career of dedication and his scientific and humanitarian contributions, which left a lasting and positive impression on his colleagues and students. This was followed by speeches from several of the deceased’s colleagues among the faculty members, who recalled his outstanding qualities, scientific contributions, and noble humanitarian values, which will remain deeply engraved in the memories of all who knew him. The ceremony also featured poetic verses expressing grief and sorrow, commemorating the cherished memory of the late Dr. Kadhim and the distinguished legacy he left throughout his accomplished academic career marked by dedication and service.
At the conclusion of the ceremony, those in attendance raised their hands in prayer, asking Almighty God to envelop the deceased in His abundant mercy and grant him a place in His spacious Paradise, and to bestow patience and solace upon his family, relatives, colleagues, and loved ones.
