Workshop on “Sustainable Interior Design and Its Impact on Women’s Quality of Life in the Residential Environment” Under the patronage of the Dean of the College of Science for Women, Professor Dr. Sameera Naji Khdim, the Women’s Affairs Unit at the College of Science for Women organized a workshop entitled “Sustainable Interior Design and Its Impact on Women’s Quality of Life in the Residential Environment.” The workshop was presented by Ms. Taybah Mohammed Kazem from the University Presidency / Student Activities Department, in collaboration with Mr. Al-Aseel Ahmed Aboud.

The workshop explored the concept of sustainable interior design as a contemporary approach that contributes to enhancing the quality of life within residential environments. It highlighted women’s needs within the home and emphasized the role of thoughtful spatial planning, as well as the careful selection of materials and color schemes, in promoting psychological and physical well-being.

The workshop also addressed the importance of adopting sustainable design solutions that optimize energy and resource consumption while improving the efficient use of available resources in accordance with the demands of everyday life. Furthermore, it presented practical strategies for implementing sustainability principles in interior design, including the use of environmentally friendly materials, the enhancement of natural ventilation and daylighting, and the creation of healthy and safe living environments. These measures contribute positively to women’s health and well-being while achieving a balance among environmental, economic, and social dimensions of sustainability.

The workshop concluded by emphasizing the importance of adopting sustainable interior design concepts in residential settings and highlighting their significant role in improving quality of life, promoting public health, and fostering sustainable and balanced communities.
