Fundamentals of Artificial Intelligence and Its Modern Applications Under the patronage of Professor Dr. Sameera Naji Khdim, Dean of the College of Science for Women, the Qualification, Employment, and Follow-up Unit organized a training workshop entitled “Fundamentals of Artificial Intelligence and Its Modern Applications.” The workshop was presented by Assistant Professor Rajaa Nader Kitan and Ms. Shahad Abdul Jabbar as part of the College’s ongoing efforts to enhance students’ skills and prepare them to meet the evolving demands of the modern labor market.
The workshop aimed to introduce participants to the fundamental concepts of artificial intelligence (AI), the principles underlying intelligent algorithms, and the latest AI applications across a wide range of fields, including education, healthcare, industry, and data analysis. It also highlighted the significant role of AI in streamlining processes, improving operational efficiency and performance, fostering innovation, and creating new employment opportunities.
In addition, the workshop addressed the essential skills required for students wishing to pursue careers in the field of artificial intelligence. These included analytical thinking, fundamental programming skills, and data handling and analysis. Practical examples and simplified applications were presented to strengthen participants’ understanding of the key concepts and their real-world implementation.
Furthermore, the workshop discussed the ethical and technical challenges associated with the development and use of artificial intelligence, emphasizing the importance of responsible AI practices and the adoption of appropriate strategies to address these challenges effectively.
The workshop concluded by emphasizing the importance of acquiring artificial intelligence competencies as essential future-oriented skills. It underscored their role in enhancing graduates’ employability, strengthening their competitiveness in the labor market, and supporting continued scientific and technological advancement.
