Under the patronage of the Dean of the College of Science for Women, Prof. Dr. Samira Naji Kazem, and as part of the Deanship’s commitment to strengthening public safety requirements and improving preventive measures within the university environment, the Civil Defense Unit, along with the administrative and scientific divisions and units of the College, were supplied with a number of diverse and specialized fire extinguishers in accordance with approved safety and security standards.
The supplied equipment included carbon dioxide (CO₂) fire extinguishers designated for electrical fires, in addition to extinguishers suitable for fires involving solid materials such as paper, files, and ceilings, as well as other types designed to deal with various sources of ignition. This ensures rapid response to emergency incidents and helps minimize potential risks.
This initiative comes as part of an integrated plan adopted by the College Deanship to activate the role of civil defense, enhance preventive preparedness, protect lives and property, and provide a safe and stable educational environment that supports both educational and research activities.
The Deanship affirmed that this support is part of its ongoing commitment to providing essential safety requirements in coordination with the relevant units, reflecting its dedication to implementing occupational safety instructions and promoting a culture of preventive awareness among all members of the College.
