Under the patronage of the Dean of the College of Science for Women, Dr. Sameera Naji Khdim , the Department of Biology , in cooperation with the Rehabilitation and Employment Unit, organized an introductory seminar for first-year female students. The event was attended by the Assistant Dean for Scientific Affairs, the Head of the Unit, as well as a number of administrative staff and faculty members of the department.
The seminar aimed to familiarize the students with the importance of the Rehabilitation and Employment Unit and its role in supporting their academic and professional pathways. This was achieved through a detailed presentation of the unit’s responsibilities and the services it provides, including training mechanisms, methods for developing labor market–relevant skills, guidance on curriculum vitae preparation, and clarification of the opportunities available to students during their years of study and beyond.
The meeting also included an introduction to the college, its departments, and its scientific activities, along with the provision of guidance related to training and the acquisition of future professional experience. In addition, emphasis was placed on the importance of academic commitment and building positive relationships within the university environment to ensure a strong and successful start in the first academic year.
This activity forms part of the department’s efforts to create a supportive and motivating environment for first-year female students, empower them to begin their academic journey with confidence, and enable them to make optimal use of the services offered by the college throughout their years of study.
