Under the patronage of the President of University of Baghdad, Professor Dr. Raghd Al‑Hashemi, and the Deans of the College of Science for Women and the College of Excellence, and in the presence of the Assistant Dean for Scientific and Student Affairs, Dr. Nadia Mohammed Jawad, the activities of the second day of Entrepreneurship Week were launched. The event was organized collaboratively by the College of Science for Women and the College of Excellence, with broad participation from faculty members, staff, and students of both colleges.

The day’s program included the opening of a business bazaar, in which the College of Science for Women participated with a large pavilion showcasing its students’ products. A diverse range of handcrafted and creative works was displayed, including knitting, sewing, and hand embroidery, as well as artistic paintings inspired by nature, life, and contemplation. The bazaar also featured distinguished products prepared by graduates and current students of the college, such as candles, fragrances, and cosmetic products. Students from all departments of the college took part in this activity, aiming to highlight talents and support small and emerging enterprises.

In addition, a spacious pavilion hosted a variety of products presented by the Iraqi National Women’s Team, including homemade foods, handicrafts, artistic works, and decorative items, all of which contribute to the service and development of women and the broader community.

The day’s activities further encompassed specialized awareness workshops on entrepreneurship, delivered by lecturers from the Iraqi National Women’s Team as part of the Entrepreneurship and Economic Empowerment Toolkit. These workshops focused on motivating university youth to establish their own projects, promoting a culture of self-employment and innovation, and introducing students to the fundamentals of entrepreneurship and project management. They also presented experiences and success stories of women entrepreneurs who began their journeys from scratch and succeeded in establishing impactful projects that serve society.

The workshops witnessed notable engagement from attendees, with numerous interventions and constructive discussions involving faculty members and staff from both colleges. Participants commended the efforts invested in organizing these activities, emphasizing their role in encouraging university students toward entrepreneurship and innovation, in alignment with the orientations and aspirations of the Presidency of the University of Baghdad and its colleges in supporting creativity and excellence.
