Under the patronage and presence of the esteemed Dean of the College of Science for Women, Professor Dr. Sameera Naji Khdim , the Continuing Education Unit at the College of Science for Women organized an extensive training course entitled “Physical Fitness and Healthy Nutrition.” The course was presented by Prof. Najat Baqir Mashkoor and Ms. Alaq Hussein Munshid, with the attendance of a number of the college’s staff and students.
The course addressed a set of important topics focusing on the concept of physical fitness and its direct impact on improving quality of life, increasing endurance, and enhancing mental well-being. It also presented the principles of proper nutrition and the essential nutrients required by the body daily, in addition to explaining the risks associated with unhealthy eating behaviors and common non-beneficial habits among youth.
The course aimed to empower participants to adopt a balanced, healthy lifestyle that integrates regular physical activity with scientifically grounded, well-rounded nutrition. It further sought to raise awareness of the importance of choosing natural dietary alternatives and avoiding practices that negatively affect overall health.
The course concluded with a series of recommendations emphasizing the necessity of incorporating physical activity into one’s daily routine, organizing meals, and regularly monitoring health indicators to ensure the maintenance of good physical fitness and a productive, healthy life. The course witnessed notable engagement from students through discussions and inquiries that enriched the session and contributed to achieving its objectives.
