Under the patronage of the Dean of the College of Science for Women, Dr. Sameera Naji Khdim, the Continuing Education Unit organized a course presented by Dr. Najat Baqir Mashkoor, entitled “Physical Fitness and Healthy Nutrition in Promoting Public Health and Preventing Chronic Diseases.”

The course addressed the relationship between regular physical activity and a balanced diet, noting that fitness is not limited to exercise alone but also encompasses proper nutrition rich in proteins, vitamins, and minerals, while reducing fats and sugars.

It further discussed the importance of achieving balance between physical activity and nutrition in enhancing energy levels, improving mood and cognitive ability, and strengthening the immune system. The lecturer emphasized that a healthy lifestyle contributes significantly to the prevention of chronic diseases such as diabetes, hypertension, and obesity.

The course concluded by underscoring the importance of adhering to healthy habits and the crucial role of continuous awareness programs in promoting health consciousness and encouraging students to adopt a balanced lifestyle that ensures well-being and vitality.
