Under the patronage of the Dean of the College of Science for Women, Prof. Dr. Sameera Naji Khdim, the Continuing Education Unit organized a specialized training program entitled “Big Data Auditing and Its Impact on Performance Quality.” The program aimed to keep pace with the rapid advancements in information technology and to emphasize the importance of big data management in supporting sound strategic decision-making.
The training was presented by Dr. Yasser Nouri Mohammed and Ms. Fatima Abdul Bari Hussein, and was attended by a group of college staff members. The program focused on transforming theoretical knowledge into practical skills through group activities and applied presentations. It also emphasized adherence to the scheduled timelines and the effective utilization of time to maximize the trainees’ learning outcomes.
The training highlighted the role of big data auditing in the early detection of risks and fraud, the enhancement of internal control systems, and the assurance of data quality. It also addressed the transition from the traditional role of data auditing to a modern role that aligns with the requirements of the digital era.
The program included introducing the trainees and identifying their training needs, ensuring thorough preparation of the training materials and curriculum, and guaranteeing the availability and readiness of all necessary tools before the program’s commencement. Trainees were divided into groups according to the nature of the training, with each group assigned coordinators responsible for consolidating and presenting responses after every activity. The trainers supervised the participants’ interactions and provided guidance to ensure that the course objectives were successfully achieved.
Furthermore, the program encouraged both verbal and non-verbal interaction between trainers and trainees, motivating participants to exchange experiences, work collaboratively, manage their time efficiently, and apply the acquired skills after the completion of the program. The trainers were keen on converting knowledge into practical competencies, focusing on key concepts while avoiding unnecessary details, and fostering human relations by cultivating humility and serving as positive role models for the trainees.
This program was designed to enhance the skills of trainees as well as academic and administrative staff, thereby improving their efficiency in handling big data, contributing to better performance, and ensuring accurate and reliable decision-making within institutions.
