Under the patronage of the Dean of the College of Science for Women, Professor Dr. Sameera Naji Khdim , the Career Development and Employment Unit organized a training course titled “Python Programming Language – Level One.”
The course was presented by Dr. Safa Sami Abdul-Jabbar, Head of the Career Development and Employment Unit, and Engineer Enas Ahmed Abd from the Information Technology Division, with the participation of a number of faculty members and students. The sessions were held in the Reyada Hall of the college.
The course aimed to enhance participants’ skills in Python programming and introduce them to the fundamentals of this high-level programming language, which is characterized by its ease of learning, simplicity of syntax and readability, as well as being a powerful, flexible, and versatile language used in various applications.
The instructors discussed the main fields of Python application that could be explored in more advanced levels of this training series, including:
• Data analysis, artificial intelligence, and machine learning.
• Game programming and task automation, particularly in processing Excel files.
The course also included a practical demonstration of how to download and install Python from its official website and an introduction to the Anaconda integrated development environment (IDE), which includes several important libraries, especially for specialists in data analysis.
During the course, Dr. Safa provided a detailed explanation of several key topics, including code structure elements, data types, arithmetic and logical operations, functions, and file handling mechanisms, in addition to hands-on exercises designed to strengthen the participants’ practical programming skills.
It is worth noting that the training course concludes with an evaluation test to measure participants’ comprehension of the material and to encourage them to continue developing their programming competencies.
