Under the patronage of the Dean of the College of Science for Women, Professor Dr. Sameera Naji Khdim, the Continuing Education Unit organized a training course entitled “Academic Empowerment: Modern Tools and Strategies in Education.” The course was presented by Dr. Safa Sami Abdul-Jabbar, Head of the Rehabilitation and Employment Unit, along with Ms. Dina Hassan Abbas and Mr. Zaid Ziyad Adnan.
The course addressed the concepts of academic empowerment and highlighted key digital tools that contribute to developing university teaching methods and enhancing the role of modern technology in supporting and improving the efficiency of the educational process. A number of educational applications that foster interactive learning environments were presented, including Quizlet, which facilitates quick memorization and the organization of scientific terminology; Google Classroom, which streamlines the management of online classrooms and assignments; and Google Scholar, which provides access to reliable academic research and sources.
The course also discussed Grammarly, a tool for linguistic proofreading and improving academic writing; ChatGPT, which supports idea generation, concept clarification, and assists researchers in content formulation; and Canva, which is used for designing professional and visually appealing presentations and educational posters.
This course was organized in alignment with the fourth goal of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG 4), which focuses on ensuring inclusive and equitable quality education and promoting lifelong learning opportunities for all.
