Thesis Discussion
The College of Science for Women at the University of Baghdad discussed the master’s thesis entitled. Assessment of LAMA2 Levels for the Diagnosis of Insulin Resistance and Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus through a Combined Approach Involving Thiol Balance.
Submitted by: Zahraa Qasim Mujbil
The study aimed to evaluate LAMA2 and thiol levels as supportive biomarkers for diagnosing insulin resistance (IR) and type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM). A total of 120 participants were included and divided into three groups: patients with T2DM, patients with IR, and healthy individuals.
The research was conducted at the College of Science for Women / University of Baghdad, in collaboration with Baghdad Teaching Hospital and the National Diabetes Center, during the period from August to December 2023. Techniques used included ELISA, thiol balance analysis, and biochemical tests.
- Adoption of LAMA2 as an early biomarker for insulin resistance and type 2
- Utilization of thiol levels as an indicator of oxidative.
