College of Science for Women / University of Baghdad examined the thesis entitled (Evaluation of Some Immunological and Hematological Indicators in Iraqi Leukemia Patients)

Objectives of the Thesis
- The thesis/ dissertation aims to Evaluation of selected immunological and hematological markers, in addition to several CD markers, using flow cytometry in patients with acute leukemia to determine whether these markers could serve as diagnostic and prognostic biomarkers for disease progression and treatment response.
Content of the Thesis
- The thesis also includes evaluation of IL-32, IL-39, and sHLA-G using ELISA in Patients with Acute Leukemia Before and After Treatment Compared with Healthy Controls, and Assessment of CD19, CD20, CD56, and CD123 using Flow Cytometry in Newly Diagnosed Patients to Determine Their Role in Diagnosis.
Recommendation of the Thesis
- These biomarkers should be investigated more extensively in acute leukemia and also studied in patients with chronic leukemia rather than being limited to acute leukemia.
- Long-term studies should be conducted on the same newly diagnosed patients after receiving treatment to determine how these biomarkers change following completion of the treatment phase. Furthermore, future studies should not be limited to chemotherapy but should also include other treatment modalities, such as immunotherapy and radiotherapy.
