Under the patronage of the Dean of the College of Science for Women, Professor Dr. Sameera Naji Khdim, the Continuing Education Unit, in cooperation with the Department of Biology , held a training course on organizing raw data and plotting it after statistical analysis, entitled
“Plotting Biological Data as Figures by Using Computer.”
The course was presented by Dr. Zainab Imran Salman, Ms. Noor Majid, and Ms. Batool Emad Kazem.
The course took place from June 2 to June 4, 2025, and was attended by a number of faculty members and postgraduate students. The course aimed to enhance participants’ abilities in analyzing biological data and plotting it scientifically and accurately using computer software, with a focus on advanced statistical methods for representing results graphically in a manner that facilitates understanding and application in scientific research. The course included theoretical explanations and practical application of several important statistical analyses widely used in biological studies, including Correlation, Regression, T-Test for hypothesis testing between two groups, One-Way ANOVA, and Repeated Measures ANOVA.During the training, participants used specialized computer programs to perform these analyses and generate precise graphical representations of the results, including software such as SPSS and Excel. The course comprised intensive theoretical sessions, practical exercises, and interactive discussions aimed at improving participants’ proficiency in professionally presenting research findings, thereby enhancing the quality of scientific papers prepared for publication.
