College of science for women/University of Baghdad examined the thesis entitled (Synthesis Core – Shell (Ag: Cr) Nanoparticles for gas sensing applications)

of the student: Zahraa Ali Muqbil

The thesis aims to Preparation of Ag:Cr nanomaterial in environmentally and cost-effective method to use  in gas sensor Applications.

The message also included: preparing the Ag:Cr nanomaterial in an environmentally friendly, inexpensive, and non-toxic way. A thin film of the nanomaterial was prepared in a safe and inexpensive way, and testing the effectiveness of this material against toxic gases such as NO2 and H2S.

The most important recommendations which the study has come up with and the average obtained.

The final preparation demonstrated that Ag:Cr nanoparticles exhibited sensitivity to toxic gases such as NO2 and H2S at different temperatures and times. Consequently, the main conclusion of this study suggests that Ag:Cr nanoparticles prepared by plasma jet and spray pyrolysis techniques using silver nitrate and chromium nitrate can be used as sensitizers for various other gases.
