Under the patronage of Professor Dr. Sameera Naji Khdim, Dean of the College of Science for Women, the Department of Computer Science, in collaboration with the Continuing Education Unit, organized a training course titled “Methods for Developing English Language Skills and Their Application in Communication with Various Individuals through the Selection of Appropriate Vocabulary.” The course was presented by Dr. Hind Salem Kashkoul.
The course aimed to empower participants to enhance their English language skills in both professional and social contexts. It focused on training participants in the use of accurate and contextually appropriate vocabulary to interact effectively with others in work and learning environments. Additionally, the course sought to build confidence in oral and written communication skills in English, and to develop essential competencies such as listening, comprehension, pronunciation, and conversation. It also emphasized the importance of selecting appropriate vocabulary based on the context—whether in formal or informal situations—and improving academic writing techniques by expanding and accurately employing one’s vocabulary.
Moreover, the course presented a set of practical strategies for expanding linguistic competence through regular listening, reading, and daily language practice. These strategies are designed to significantly and rapidly enhance language proficiency. The course targeted female college students interested in improving their academic language skills, as well as researchers and staff members seeking to advance their English language proficiency.
