Under the patronage of the Dean of the College of Science for Women, Professor Dr. Sameera Naji Khdim, the Quality Assurance and Performance Evaluation Division organized a workshop titled “Formulating Learning Outcomes.” The workshop was presented by Dr. Amer Jaafar Sadiq, Ms. Anfal Muzhaffar Ali, and Ms. Maisam Fadel Aboud.

The workshop aimed to enhance faculty members’ competencies in formulating precise and clear learning outcomes that align with academic accreditation and quality assurance standards. It addressed the fundamental concepts related to learning outcomes and the methodologies for articulating them in measurable and assessable terms, consistent with the academic programs’ objectives at the University of Baghdad.

The trainers provided practical examples and case studies to illustrate the distinctions between educational objectives and learning outcomes, as well as mechanisms for transforming course goals into specific learning outcomes at the levels of knowledge, skills, competencies, and values.

The workshop featured interactive training sessions during which participants engaged in drafting and formulating learning outcomes for their respective courses, followed by group discussions and analyses of the drafted outcomes.

The organizers emphasized that this initiative is part of the division’s ongoing efforts to promote a culture of quality and advance the educational process within the academic institution by supporting faculty members and empowering them to adopt modern teaching approaches that focus on achieving tangible learning results contributing to the improvement of higher education outcomes.
