The College of Science for women at the University of Baghdad discussed the master’s thesis entitled ” Role of Cystatin D, CTHRCI and HBD -3 in Iraqi Patients with Osteoporosis “By the student: Zahraa Salim Hassan Abbas
The thesis aims to this study is whether serum Cystatin D, CTHRCI and HBD -3 may be used as accurate and sensitive markers for diagnosis of Iraqi patients with osteoporosis.
This study, which was conducted by the National Joint Center at Yarmouk Teaching Hospital / Baghdad Health Directorate, Baghdad Governorate, it included measurement of Cystatin D, CTHRCI and HBD -3 levels using the ELISA technique.
The most important recommendations reached by the thesis are:
- Measuring the levels of CST5, CTHRC1, and HBD-3 in the serum of Iraqi women with OP before and after menopause.
- Measuring the levels of CST5, CTHRC1, and HBD-3 in the serum of Iraqi patients with OP Pre- and Post-treatment with Alendronic acid.
- It is preferable to conduct large-scale research, such as the possibility of using these parameters as a treatment for OP patients.
