The College of Science for women at the University of Baghdad discussed the master’s thesis entitled ” Studying the Levels of Amyloid-A, Fibrinogen Like Protein-1 and Myeloperoxidase in Sera of Rheumatoid Arthritis Patients “By the student: Aya Waleed Aziz

The thesis aims to this study is whether serum Amyloid-A, Fibrinogen Like Protein-1 and Myeloperoxidase may be used as accurate and sensitive markers for predicting the prognosis of RA disease.

This study, which was conducted at Baghdad Teaching Hospital / Baghdad Medical City, measurement of serum Amyloid-A, Fibrinogen Like Protein-1 and Myeloperoxidase levels using the ELISA technique.

The most important recommendations reached by the thesis are:

  1. Compare the roles of SAA and FGL1 across RA patients undergoing different treatment types and considering the duration of treatment.
  2. Incorporating a more extensive samples of both patients and healthy individuals with considering more samples of males will to enhance the validity of comparisons.
  3. Further research is needed to understand the role of these parameters in diagnosing other diseases like gout, systemic lupus erythematosus, and psoriatic arthritis.
  4. Appling nano techniques in RA diagnosis and developing treatment strategies.
