Under the patronage of the Dean of the College of Science for Women, Professor Dr. Samira Naji Kazem, the Department of Physics, in collaboration with the Continuing Education Unit, organized a scientific course titled “Medical Terminology”. The course was presented by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Haider Yahya Hammoud, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ban Hassan Adel, and M. Niyan Fareed Majid.

The course aimed to familiarize the students with medical terminology, which is considered the cornerstone for communication among various medical disciplines. It helps in the accurate and clear exchange of information. A unified medical language contributes to avoiding confusion and misinterpretation of information, thereby reducing the risks of medical errors that could have serious effects on patients’ health.

In addition, these terms serve as a bridge for interaction between researchers and healthcare practitioners from all over the world, enhancing international collaboration and enabling advancements in treatment and scientific research. This unified language aids in the faster transfer of knowledge and development in the medical field, positively impacting the development of treatment methods and the innovation of new medical technologies.

Moreover, medical terminology contributes to improving coordination between different departments and medical teams in hospitals and healthcare centers, leading to the provision of integrated and effective care. Therefore, these terms play a crucial role not only in facilitating daily medical work but also in ensuring the delivery of high-quality and safe healthcare to patients.
