The Department of Physics Organizes a Scientific Visit to the University of Baghdad Museum
Faculty members from the Department of Physics, accompanied by a group of third-year female students, organized a scientific visit to the University of Baghdad Museum as part of a series of academic activities aimed at strengthening the practical and applied dimensions of students’ learning and linking theoretical knowledge with hands-on practice.
The visit included an exploration of the museum’s diverse scientific exhibits, which covered various fields of physics, including laboratory experiments as well as traditional and modern scientific instruments. The students were also introduced to the scientific principles underlying these experiments. In addition, the faculty members provided comprehensive explanations of the exhibits, highlighting the practical applications of physical concepts in everyday life and industrial fields. This contributed to deepening the students’ understanding of the concepts they study within their theoretical curricula.
The visit focused on developing the students’ research and scientific exploration skills, encouraging critical and analytical thinking, and enhancing their ability to integrate theoretical knowledge with practical experimentation. Such objectives contribute to refining their scientific and intellectual skills and raising their awareness of the importance of physics in the advancement of modern societies.
The visit concluded with scientific dialogues and open discussions between the faculty members and the students, during which the importance of such visits in supporting the educational process and fostering students’ research and applied competencies was emphasized.
