Under the patronage of Professor Dr. Samira Naji Kazem, Dean of the College of Science for Women, the Media and Government Communications Unit, in collaboration with the Continuing Education Unit, organized a workshop titled Personal Marketing and Building Your Brand. The workshop was presented by the Head of the Public Relations Unit, M.M. Dhiyaa Abd Khalifa.
The goal of the workshop was to shed light on the concept of personal marketing, which is the process of investing in and promoting one’s reputation and abilities to develop a strong and influential image that helps achieve both professional and personal goals. This is done through building a personal brand that reflects the individual’s values, skills, and professionalism. The person should start by identifying their core values and unique skills that distinguish them from others. They should also have a clear identity and a unified message to communicate with their target audience.
This includes having a distinctive presence on social media platforms, where content related to their field of expertise can be shared, and opinions can be exchanged with followers regularly. A key step in personal marketing is improving engagement with the audience, whether through speaking at conferences or writing for specialized blogs. It is also important to maintain consistency between actions and messages to ensure the credibility of the personal brand.
In conclusion, personal marketing is a vital part of professional success in today’s world, as it helps enhance both career and personal opportunities by building a strong network and making an effective contribution to the professional community.
