Under the patronage of the Dean of the College of Science for Girls, Professor Dr. Sameera Naji Khdim, the Department of Mathematics, in collaboration with the Continuing Education Unit, organized a scientific workshop titled How to Use the Mendeley Program. The workshop was presented by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mona Mansour Mustafa and Dr. Sherine Ouda Dkhil.
The workshop aimed to introduce the Mendeley program, a tool for managing references and academic sources. It is primarily used by researchers and students to simplify the process of gathering, organizing sources, and citing references in academic research. The program allows users to add references manually, upload PDF files, or use the “Import” feature to import references from academic databases like Google Scholar or PubMed. References can also be added via DOI links.
Additionally, Mendeley helps organize references into groups based on topics or projects and offers a browser extension to save references directly from academic web pages. The program also enables easy insertion of citations into Word or LibreOffice documents and facilitates sharing reference collections and collaborative research.
