Under the patronage of Dr. Samira Naji Kazem, the Dean of the College of Science for Women, the Department of Mathematics, in collaboration with the Continuing Education Unit, organized a scientific course titled “How to Write in LaTeX,” presented by Assoc. Prof. Nadia Mohammed Jawad, Dr. Farah Jawad Kazem, and Dr. Sherin Ouda Dhakil.

The course aimed to teach participants how to write scientific papers using LaTeX, a popular choice among researchers and academics due to its power and precision in formatting scientific documents. LaTeX is a typesetting system that relies on coding and is known for producing high-quality documents, especially in scientific fields such as mathematics and physics. Documents are created using text files in the .tex format and are compiled using the LaTeX program to generate a document in PDF or another format.

The course emphasized that preparing a scientific paper using LaTeX requires basic knowledge of certain commands, such as writing titles, mathematical equations, tables, and graphs. Learning these tools can significantly enhance the quality and formatting of scientific papers.
