The College of Science for Women at the University of Baghdad discussed the master’s thesis titled Discusses “Spectrophotometric Determination of Some Drugs by Using Prepared Silver Nanoparticles”Student: Zainab Noori Farid Sheltagh

The thesis aims to develop an efficient and cost-effective approach for detecting Lansoprazole, Bromhexine, Ciprofloxacin in their pharmaceutical preparations by UV-vis spectroscopy and Nanotechnology which is considered a green method because it mainly deals with particles in their nanoscopic dimensions. It is also considered a fast, sensitive and accurate method.

This study, conducted at the Analytical Laboratory for Postgraduate Studies / College of Science for Women / University of Baghdad Estimation of drugs (Lansoprazole, Bromhexine, Ciprofloxacin) in their pure forms and in their pharmaceutical preparations by using silver nanoparticles as a color sensor. The estimation was done by a colorimetric spectrophotometer.

The key recommendations of the thesis include:

This method has been used to estimate drugs in its pure forms and pharmaceutical preparations. As future recommendations it can be applied to estimate drugs in biological fluids such as blood and urine. It is also possible to estimate other drugs in their pure forms and pharmaceutical preparations using this method
