Under the patronage of the Dean of the College of Science for Women, Professor Dr. Sameera Naji Khdim, the Department of Physics organized an introductory seminar for first-year female students in the conference hall. The seminar was attended by a number of faculty members, staff, and students of the department, and was held on Monday, 15 December of the current month.

The seminar commenced with a speech presented by the Head of the Department of Physics, Dr. Haider, in which he expressed the department’s pride in welcoming the newly admitted students. He wished them a successful and distinguished academic year and emphasized the importance of physics as a fundamental pure science that serves as a cornerstone for learning and advancing other scientific disciplines.

The seminar included an awareness lecture on time management and its importance for university students, delivered by Ms. Rasha Al-Jubouri. The lecture addressed effective strategies for organizing time, setting priorities, and their role in achieving academic success and excellence.

In addition, the Head of the Rehabilitation and Employment Unit, Dr. Safa Sami Abdul-Jabbar, presented an introductory lecture outlining the vision, mission, and objectives of the unit. She highlighted its role in developing the capacities and skills of female students and graduates within their respective scientific specializations, thereby qualifying them to compete in the labor market and secure appropriate employment opportunities through various training and qualification programs, as well as through cooperation with public and private sector institutions. The lecture also emphasized the importance of developing personal and professional skills alongside academic achievement.

The event concluded with an introduction to the department’s faculty members, who welcomed the new students and wished them success and excellence in their academic journey.
