Under the patronage of the Dean of the College of Science for Women, Prof. Dr. Sameera Naji Khdim , and under the supervision and follow-up of the Associate Dean for Scientific Affairs and Students, Dr. Nadia Muhammad Jawad Ibrahim, the Department of Mathematics, in cooperation with the Psychological Counseling and Educational Guidance Unit, organized a “Library Break” activity in the college courtyard on Monday, 24 November.
This activity came as part of the college’s programs aimed at supporting students culturally and educationally, and at creating a university environment that fosters creativity and constructive communication. The break included a display of a collection of cultural, awareness-oriented, and developmental books in the college gardens, covering a variety of topics.
The event also provided a space for dialogue and interaction between faculty members and students, during which several topics were discussed, such as the importance of reading and knowledge acquisition for university students, and the role of reading during breaks and holidays in expanding general knowledge, self-development, and personal growth. Emphasis was also placed on the value of time management in daily life due to its real impact on achieving goals and academic excellence. These discussions contributed to enhancing a spirit of participation and building positive relationships between students and the department’s staff.
This initiative reflects the Department of Mathematics’ commitment to supporting university life and enriching the cultural and intellectual dimensions of its students, in alignment with the college’s mission to provide an integrated educational environment that combines academic, psychological, and cultural support.
The activity concluded in a positive and interactive atmosphere, with an affirmation of the importance of continuing to organize such events that promote awareness and positive engagement within the college.
