An overview of postgraduate studies at the College of Science for Girls with learning outcomes

Postgraduate studies began in the scientific departments in 1993-1994 when it was within the College of Education for Girls, and continued when the college was divided and the scientific departments were included in the College of Science for Women. The admission mechanism for postgraduate studies (master’s and doctoral studies) in our college is carried out in accordance with the instructions and admission controls issued by the University Presidency – Postgraduate Studies annually.

The college seeks to raise the level of graduate studies and scientific research by providing the necessary supplies and cooperating with scientific institutions in other ministries to address the challenges facing our country according to scientific foundations.

The college provided appropriate study halls equipped with interactive whiteboards and rooms equipped with computers and Internet lines in every scientific department. It also provided a library for use by male and female faculty members and postgraduate students, in addition to providing wireless Internet service that covers the college area and is available to college members and postgraduate students using their computers. Personal.

The departments (Bio sciences, chemistry, and physics) award master’s and doctoral degrees, and the Mathematics Department awards a master’s degree. Application is limited to females only, and the study system followed is the semester system (two semesters) per academic year.

Admission to postgraduate studies was without specialization for the years 2002 to 2005, as female students were distributed among scientific specializations in the second semester of the preparatory year, and admission continued according to this system until the academic year 2005-2006, when female students were accepted according to the specializations open in the scientific departments as follows:

physics department:

Laser physics and optics

Nuclear and environmental physics

Theoretical and molecular physics

Solid state and materials physics

chemistry department:

organic chemistry

Inorganic chemistry

Biochemistry

Industrial chemistry

Analytical chemistry

Department of biology:

Botany

Zoology

Microbiology

Genetics

Ecology

Mathematics department :-

In the academic year 2009-2010, the following specializations were created in the Mathematics Department:

Pure mathematics

and applied mathematics

Graduate studies outcomes at the College of Science for Women:

The graduate will be awarded a Master of Science degree as well as a Doctor of Philosophy degree in the specializations stipulated in the departments (life sciences, chemistry, physics, mathematics) as follows:

A-Department of Bio Sciences: (botany, microbiology, genetics, zoology, ecology)

B- Department of Chemistry: (organic, inorganic, analytical, biological, physical, industrial)

T- Department of Physics: (Laser and Optics, Nuclear and Environmental, Theoretical and Molecular, Solid State and Materials, and Physics)

D- Department of Mathematics: (Pure and Applied).

There is a specialized administrative division that organizes application and admission forms, follows up on the affairs of students during the study and research stage, and grants documents to graduates.
